backups of dvds

is it legal to make back-ups of copyrighted dvds you own? also anyone recommend any good software for backing them up?

    It's not illegal to make copies of things you own, but for some stupid reason, it IS illegal to circumvent DVD encryption to make a copy...... :grumble:

    Talk about idiotic.

    Unfortunately, because this is illegal, we really can't discuss it here. :(

    DVD Shrink Tutorials

    Then use Nero To burn.

    As far as I'm aware, the DVD Shrink software is legal.
