    Welcome to Short-Media :)

Reboot your computer in safe mode, and re-reun HijacK This.

    Fix the following:

    C:\WINDOWS\DPLAYSVQ.EXE

    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\DPLAYSVQ.EXE

    F1 - win.ini: run=DPLAYSVQ.EXE

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {F15B19C2-4A8E-C04F-5F5D-BEBDCD218B4B} - C:\PROGRAM FILES\MORE HOLD\TOOLOKAY.DLL (file missing)

    O3 - Toolbar: &Radio - {8E718888-423F-11D2-876E-00A0C9082467} - C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\MSDXM.OCX

    O3 - Toolbar: Thunk 4 Axis - {556E1E84-CB8D-2A51-CF02-FA8CD5B0EB03} - C:\PROGRAM FILES\MORE HOLD\TOOLOKAY.DLL (file missing)

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [CSCRIPS] C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND\CSCRIPS.EXE

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [DPLAYSVQ] C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\DPLAYSVQ.EXE

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [DSSSIF] C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\DSSSIF.EXE

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [OEMCleanup] C:\WINDOWS\OPTIONS\OEMRESET.EXE

    O14 - IERESET.INF: START_PAGE_URL=http://portal.plus.net/

Reboot normally and see what happens. If you are good, please come back and let us know if this solves it for you. If it doesn't work, please post a fresh HJT log.

    Hi
Thanks for getting back to me so soon earlier.

I rebooted in safe mode and run Hijack and fixed all of the points you said, I also went into windows and deleted files C:\WINDOWS\DPLAYSVQ.EXE & C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\DPLAYSVQ.EXE, and emptied the recycle bin.

I rebooted my system and right clicked Internet Explorer - Properties and low and behold in my home page box again was:- http://omegasearch.com/passthrough/index.html?http://www.msn.com/

Here is a new copy of my HJT Lod file, is there anything else I should fix.

Grrrrr, I missed this the first time. Try toasting this, in safe mode:

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Deaf junk] C:\PROGRA~1\wave 2 vc\GridDraw.exe

And manually deleting the folder from your hard drive.

    Let me know!

My blood pressure is through the ceiling right now. I have followed all of the steps for the Omegasearch removal, and still am stuck with the search bar covering the bottom of my IE screen, not to mention the rest of the nasties. Here is my log file. I greatly, truly, and sincerely appreciate any help that you can provide. I seem to have gotten something called the ENC TOOL at the same time Omegasearch showed up yesterday. I cannot get rid of it either.

follow the updated instructions here and use them to get rid of the following:

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [BlahDart] C:\PROGRA~1\CREATI~1\Enc tool.exe
    O4 - Global Startup: ItsDeductible7PopUp.lnk = C:\Program Files\ItsDeductible7\ItsD7.exe
    O16 - DPF: {41F17733-B041-4099-A042-B518BB6A408C} - http://a1540.g.akamai.net/7/1540/52...meInstaller.exe
    C:\PROGRA~1\CREATI~1\Enc tool.exe

that should do it, if not post back your updated log and we'll see what we can do

Dont need the Real Player, DirectCD, MusicMatch, or Quicktime to start up either.

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [RealTray] C:\Program Files\Real\RealPlayer\RealPlay.exe SYSTEMBOOTHIDEPLAYER
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AdaptecDirectCD] "C:\Program Files\Roxio\Easy CD Creator 5\DirectCD\DirectCD.exe"
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [MMTray] C:\Program Files\MUSICMATCH\MUSICMATCH Jukebox\mm_tray.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\Program Files\QuickTime\qttask.exe" -atboottime

There are prolly others that start up as well that are not needed. Those are just resource hogs and it will take longer to start your computer.

You're a wonderful human being, mondi.
Five hours after this began, I think IE belongs to me again.
    Thanks infinity for the help.
