MSN Messenger Bot warning!

There are some trojans that come from this vector ouitlined below, unfortunately.

MSN Messenger has a few holes in it, some of which are fixed by version updates to MSN Messenger. There are several such. Givne the thread about "this browse mess." I would say this:

First, be careful who you talk to over MSN MEssenger, and acccept no files from offers that appear from any unknown MSN Messenger ID. If you get a spontaneous download start, CLOSE MSN Mesenger. It allows ActiveX and vbscript use, and Bots for MSN Messenger net riding can use that.

Second, update your box.

BTW, I DID file a US-CERT report about the thread and Google match that led me to a site nominally in Belgium that offered bots for Messenger. I would recommend avoiding

www.mess.be

[/PHP]

Like the plague. Apparently NEAT stuff can disguise trojan and worm distribution. HAS and WILL also.

Bots can be programmed to do anything the receiving box will let it, or to plant trojans on the receiving box. THEY HAVE SO BEEN PROGRAMMED.
