TV and 9800pro

edited April 2004 in Hardware
Hello everyone,

I just became the proud owner of a 9800pro card and got rid of my Geforce. Now there is something I always wanted to do but never figured out...

Can I plug my TV (a modern Phillips TV with all sorts of connectors..) to my graphic card and thus see TV on my monitor, record stuff (like the DVD I am watching (and I mean make a legal copy of a disc I own) ) and furthermore can I send a signal to my TV from my PC? I have a broadband DSL connection (2mb I think) and I heard there are lots of ways to watch stream TV over the Internet. For example in europe it is impossible to watch American football and I'd love to!

Any hints, tips, guide, software recommandation?

As far as sending what is on your pc to your TV thats not a problem, you only need to buy the right cable.
Watching TV on your pc can only be done with a TV tuner card or a AIW card. IF u had a 9800 AIW(all in wonder) or a tv in card, then you could watch tv on your pc.
If you want to make a "backup" of DVD's you own in it is better to rip them. Thrax made some great guides right here http://www.short-media.com/review.php?c=40

    Enjoy the new 9800
