Disregarding all minimum spec requrements and any "you should really use" comments, is it possible to play FarCry on a GeForce2 32MB (any GeForce 2, a yes no for each type would be appreciated).

Cheers,
Ex

    1.4MHz P4 with 256MB RAM.

The game claims it needs 64MB VRAM MINIMUM to play, but someone claims that it is running fine (with the graphics levels turned down) on his machine.

You could try 640x480 or 800x600 but I bet it's gonna run like sh!t. Especially if it's on XP.

.. or more than likely he's running it as a low resolution with the details set to low.

    800x600 apparently...

I tried to get him to ID it via DirectX, but it just said 'Name: GeForce2' 'Manufacturer: nVidia' 'Chipset: Unknown'....

It could run on a MX400 or a Ultra.

I run it on a geforce 4 TI using OPENGL rather than D3D.

Running OpenGL made a HUGE performance increase over D3D on my lower end card.

Give it a try. You have to edit a config file, but I dont remember which one. Your a smart fella tho, Im sure youll figure it out.

Or maybe he just doesn't know the definition of "smooth". I know, back in september '03, back when i was a real n00b at computer stuff, :) I was in love with my geforce 4 MX 440 PCI on a compaq from '98. I nearly sh!t myself when I saw a 9500 Pro playing Halo. ...and now I own a 9700 Pro. Times sure have changed!
