Windows Media Player 10?

A new build of Microsoft's Windows Media Player has been made available for download. The installer labels it as Windows Media Player 10, however the version number it self reads v9.00.00.3409. Certainly it is the newest build we've seen yet and given that the GUI has changed significantly I think it would be safe to say it is a Beta build of the next major release version, v10. You can download it through the link below.

Note: Make sure you set a system restore point before installing!

The original link was correct (http://www.flexbeta.net/main/comments.php?catid=1&shownews=7431), their site is down for some reason however. I've updated the link to another download source.

I might add though that after trying it out, I can't recommend anyone use it for purposes other than testing. The image quality was dire when playing Mpeg files and without a system restore point it was very tricky to roll back to the previous version.

    Cheers
