Hijackthis.log re: smtp connection

Hi guys... I wonder if any of you clever bunch can help me out.

Whilst offline, something keeps trying to connect me to the 'net. Namely, to 'moneydupes.com'. Whilst online, I have run netstat and noticed that every so often a new SMTP connection is made to moneydupes.com. These always seems to be on the CLOSE_WAIT state. Obviously, whatever is trying to get me on the 'net is trying to mail information.

I've virus scanned several times and a few dialers cropped up, as well as some homepage changers. I killed these. I've run AdAware and Spybot several times, and both say I am currently clear. I don't know what to do next.

Below is my HiJackThis log file. Hopefully someone here can see something wrong. Thanks.

    Welcome to Short-Media :)

Try rebooting in SAFE MODE, run HJT, and Fix the following:

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [] C:\WINDOWS\Options\OEMReset.exe /Audit

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Services Process] C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\services.exe

I suspect that this last entry is where your problem is. There is a legit program called services.exe, but it resides in your System32 folder, and does not run as a startup program. To have one residing in your System32/config folder, and being launched at startup, is wrong. This is a common trick of mny hijacks and spyware / adware apps.

Besides fixing these in HJT, while in safe mode, also manually rename or move that file: C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\services.exe. Just call it services.xxx for now.

Reboot normally, and see what happens. If all looks good, go and delete the services.xxx file.

Please come back and let us know if this helps you out :)
