Amd 2800+ Plz Help

please can some one plz tell me what sort of chip this is? i was told it was a barton 2800+ 512kb L2 cache???? i used cpuz,, and other programs like that and it say's i got a thorton..256kb cache this is the code on the cpu:

CAN SOME ONE PLZ HELP???

    That is a weird one, bio1000. The AXDC tells me that it is a Thorton but the 2800DKV4D contraticts this because AKAIK, there never has been a Thorton released at 2800+ speed. The "4" in the KV4D part also is telling that this proc is supposed to have 512k of L2 cache; the Thortons (and Tbreds) show a "3" in that place in the OPN, denoting 256k L2 cache. Before the Bartons came out, AMD released a few Tbreds at 2.25 and called them a 2800+ though. What multiplier is that proc using? If it's a 13.5 multi, then you must have a new release of the Thortons in 2800+ speed rating as that's the multi used by the Tbred 2800+.

    As far as unlocking the extra L2 cache, I don't know the particulars but I've heard that the later Thortons were also locked this way too, with no way to activate the extra L2 cache,

    i think the cpu is on ether 12.5 or 13.5 multi......im not sure i'v just taken it out my system coz it keeps forcing my pc to reboot after a couple of mins.....it's all running on default setting.....i cant change the multi coz it's locked at that speed....and the FSB is at 166...so i still can figure out y it's rebooting all the time??? as for the L2 cache.....it says on the cpus code (AXDC2800DKV4D)
    so

    2800= is the speed
    D=package type
    K=1.65v but its at 1.75 (locked)
    v=85 degrees max die temp
    4=512kb L2 cache but its only coming up as 256kb????
    D=333mhz FSB???

    so if you have any ideas plz let me know

    Try running a diag program like aida to see your L2 cache, if it shows 256, you should go to your store and rma it

    I strongly suspect you have a remarked chip there.
    AMD have never made a thorton with a 2800+ rating!
