Athlon XP-M

MJOMJO Denmark New
edited April 2004 in Hardware
Well maybe I'll be getting a XP-M soon.
But I have a few questions.

What steppings are good OC'ers?
Will I benifit from the upgrade? (My present AXP needs 1.9V to do 2.25)
What XP-M should I purchase? (Athlon XP-M 1900+,2000+, 2200+, 2400+ or 2500+ The 2500+ is very expensive here in Denmark)

I am considering a 2400+ with this stepping:"AXMH2400FQQ4C"
It is a 45W mobile, what should I expect from it, if I decide to purchase it?
Price 2400+ €98.5/$116.5/£66

Definitely the 2400+ or up. The higher ones OC more if you have the money. My 2400+ does 2.5 with 1.9V.

Its borderline being worth it, it depends if you want more umphh is your current a Barton? The XP-M i bought for my brother performs 50% above (in folding) the level of my 2.2 Ghz apple-bred (reduced cache). Mine 2500+ runs 2.5 GHz @ 55*C load in a Antec AMB3700 with an ALX-800 and a TT smart fan.

The 2500+ costs $149, that's way too expensive if you ask me.
I think I will go for the 2400+, thanks for your advice guys.

Get the XP-M 2400+ 35Watt version 'AXMD2400FJQ4C'. It runs on lower Vcore default, and usually OCs better than the DTR 2400+ 'AXMD2400FQQ4C'. It seems to be on par with the 2500+ XP-M DTR in OC abilities and its cheaper.

Not in stock atm, but you can find it here:

It is a bit cheaper here:
    http://www.intercondata.dk/shop/productinfo.asp?id=65047
It has 512 MB cache, according to the link WooHoo :eek2:
    What a mistake. :)

But still the 35W version costs 100 DKR more than the 45W.
Those XP-M's are expensive, that's for sure. :(

Thanks for the link Isevald, the XP-M is hard to find here in Denmark.

EDIT: Total price incl. shipping = $142 or 896.5 DKR
But it is the best AthlonXP money can buy, right?

Yep, I left mine at 2.5 for stability and heat purposes but the highest post I got was at 2738 MHz (can't remember mult / fsb exactly) but it wouldn't load into windoze :/
