Why does everybody hate steam?
At the last lan I went to, I didnt have 1.5 (I think. The normal, non-steam version) and apparently I'M the noob for not having the outdated version of cs. EVERYBODY had steam, but noone wanted to use it cause it "Takes too long to update". I had to wait half an hour until someone with the install showed up because everyone else in an a-hole and refused to use steam.
Why do you guys hate steam so much? I like using it when I play Day Of Defeat.
Ten reasons why Steam can sloppy-second Gabe Newell and Vivendi
1. Steam is slow
2. I don't want things being cached to my HDD without knowing exactly what's in it. "Counter-Strike" doesn't count.
3. Steam is buggy. When they first switched to steam, 1 out of ever 15 connect attempts worked.
4. Steam was down for 7 days not too long ago.
5. Connections to servers take longer than ever before.
6. Steam takes precious resources. Half-Life and the OS should do that, not HL + Windows AND Steam.
7. Steam makes it difficult to customize the mod.
8. Steam stifles the ability to quickly connect to WAN games.
9. The game I want to play shouldn't have the option to load at startup
10. CS 1.6 looks retarded. The fonts are huge, the interface is lame. Steam's fault.
I just read your post Thrax, so I wanted to see how long it would take to get into a game. It took about a minute to Launch steam, launch Day Of Defeat, and get into a server.
I also like steam cause I can run my half-life games at 1800X1440.

IMO
oh and we could probably recruit more people once we get a server
I'm undecided on CS:CZ. Mostly I've felt bad vibes about it.
What server do you play CS on
OH! thrax was talking about CZ, man no one plays that. everyone still plays CS this clan will be for CS!
The game is actually exactly like 1.3 even the old bunny hop is still there
