I was wondering if it is possible to take a screenshot of windows media player, and get a screen shot of the movie being played. Using printscreen doesnt work. Any ideas or is this a no-go?

    It is if you go to:

    Tools -> Options -> Performance -> Advanced

    And uncheck all the boxes for the period of time wherin you wish to take a screenshot. Printscreen will work.

    Try FRAPS. I haven't tried in WMP, but you can capture frames and videos in many applications with FRAPS.

    I've tried Fraps, and used to be able to record little clips from DVDs and video files to make animations, but it won't let me do that anymore. I just recently re-installed Windows, so maybe now I can, but before it wouldn't let me, only in games, which was a shame 'cause I made some pretty nice av's with it.

    I like Snagit, it can do both image grabs and video grabs, with some great advanced features, including a small but powerful photo studio for adding arrows and highlights to image grabs.

    I remember this being asked once before. One reply said if you have another player going as well as MP, say, Quick time or Winamp, You can capture MPs screen. Never tried it though.
