Temp sensor on the NF7-S

Dunno if this is a motherboard question or a software question?

Is there any hardware monitoring software available that can read the internal temperature of the chip on the NF7-S?

I believe that most of the software uses the socket sensor.

Is it also true that you cannot get any readings from the internal sensor, and that it is only used in order to shut the system down in the event of overheating?

If that motherboard has the ability to read the CPU's internal sensor, then Motherboard Monitor shouldn't have any problem reading it. Just check though that your motherboard can actually read that particular sensor on the CPU. ABIT up until recently haven't given their boards that ability, but if the BIOS can read the sensor, Motherboard Monitor should be able to as well.
