I have an Asus A7N8X rev 1.04 or maybe 1.06, but whatever, mobo that I just upgraded to the latest BIOS, 1007. It was running the 1001.E bios previous to this. The CPU is an athlon XP 2400+ which runs at 2ghz. Anyhow, ever since this bios upgrade (or downgrade in this case :mean: ) the cpu is being detected as an 1800+ and windows shows the processor running at 1.5ghz (double :mean: ) before I just revert back to the old bios, is there anyone here that's had a similar problem? btw, yes I've triple checked every single bios option to make sure that everything was set correctly, i've tried to let the bios auto detect the cpu, i've tried to manually set the fsb to 133, etc... all to no avail. anyone else seen this?

Is the a 100/133mhz jumper? Check and see if it's set correctly. At 1500mhz the multi is correct @ 15x but the FSB is running at 100mhz instead of the proper 133mhz.

yar sounds like you forgot to reset the FSB in the bios after the flash.

nope, the jumper is correct, i even tried to move it to the 100 position just for kicks, but that had no effect. i googled for this issue and found others with similar problems, but no answers on how to solve it

Does flashing it back to the previous bios cure the problem, kanez? I'm running the 1007 bios on my A7N8X-Dlx 1.04 with no problems at all.

that's my next thing to do. I'd rather get my 500mhz back, i'm sure it'll be more of an improvement than whatever this new bios can give me.
