The cathode's dead... :banghead: Anyone know where I can get a good cold cathode with decent life?

What kind did you have before. I got one about a year ago from Xoxide, it was bright to. Might want to look there to see what they have.

The one I had before (have now, however you wanna look at it) is.... I dunno. It came with this crappy case along with my crappy PSU. (No name-brand here, but you can't go wrong with 550 watts right?) The thing only lasted a few months. Do they all have short lives like that?

I'm not for sure on the life actually, did you leave it on 24/7? As far as the PSU goes, crappy generic PSU's I don't trust. A PSU can break a system if it is the weakest link, trust me. You get what you pay for, that's just the way it is.

They shou8ld last much longer than a few months. I have been using 2 cathodes by PC Toys for about 1.5 years, and they are still bright.

I picked them up for a measily 20$ on some deal website (i dont remember which one) .

I would recommend the PC Toys brand.
