I have a d-link di-524 router and a alvarion B pcmcia card, if i turn on wep on my router and can use my alvarion even if i put in the wep key in the card. Any ideas how to get these guys to work? I was thinking Microsoft because Ive heard they are very compatiable with everything out there.

Can you be a little more specific? Dos it see the card at all? Where are you entering the WEP key? In the Microsoft Driver Dialog or the Driver Dialog that came with the card? Is it connecting then disconnecting? Do you have other forms of security? Can you see the router? I assume you're running XP? Are you allowing MS to handle the security?

Sorry about all the questions, but I find the implementation is not ideal and its a fine balance of swearing quietly and troubleshooting.

i have a older laptop with w2k pro im using the software that the card came with to enter a key for encryption and nothing. Cant ping, get a ip, nothing. If I run the router without wep im fine and can surf.
