PartitionMagic 8.01-- must have update!

There is a critical flaw in the way PartitionMagic 8.00 handles NTFS versus non-NTFS partitions. Version patch to 8.01 fixes part of it-- a large part. There is also one thing to radically\totally avoid if you have NTFS boot partitions, do NOT make new partitions between multiple NTFS boot partitions! Doing so can break booting of an NTFS O\S of types 2000 or XP totally-- the boot.ini file to boot\system partition pointers get out of sync with the actual partition structure. Especially if the new partition is of a type that 2000 and\or XP do not know natively.

This info was in a PC Magazine review of utilities, with best picks by PC Mag editors. PM 8.01 was an editor's pick. This info is in the most recent issue of PC Magazine that I got on Tuesday here, and will be in the next news-stand issue of PC-Magazine.
