Hard Disk Bad Media Controller

I have Maxtor 20gb 5400 rmp model 2B02H1 Hard Drive, its Contrller Board is just Bad Please any One Help Me that how to Recover Data in this case cause i am sure the data in side the disk is OK But Due to BAD Controller board (Confurme by some Maxtor Hard disk Dignostic tools too.). I am unable to get My data
Please Tel me what to do very thank full to you

    Not sure what to do about the controler but somebody here will.
    I had a drive that seemed to have lost all its data, in explorer it was empty. Prof pointed me at a program called 'test disk' which restored all the data back and fixed it in explorer. You can get it here.
