OMEGASEARCH - DrMusic

For the last two weeks I've been following this forum and all the good advice you already gave to a lot of people. After downloading and running HijackThis I was pretty sure that I got rid of the Omegasearchproblem. At least the tool bar and the different folders in my favorites were gone.
Only the IE start page was still the famous "about_: blank", which I could easily delete by running the fix of HijackThis.
To be on the safe side and try to get rid of the a.m. problem I did download and run Spybot yesterday.
And, now I am back to the original status with all the Omegasearch problems.

Since I am not a real "pro", I do not dare to start the PC in safe mode and follow all the instructions.

Would you please be so kind and have a look at the latest logfile and tell me what to do?

I really appreciate your or somebody elses help.

    first, move hijack this to a folder on your hard drive, c:\HJT

    ok, the only way to remove omegasearch is booting into safe mode:

    press f8 on startup to get into safe mode.

    remove the following using hijack this:

    then, in safe mode, delete these folders:
    c:\programme\plus01~1 (it's a folder that starts with plus01)
    c:\programme\memole~1 (starts with memole)

    i guess it worked!!! what a relieve! lets keep fingers crossed. you helped me a lot. all the files i deleted appeared on my desktop as a "backup file" e.g. backup-20040527-092537-108?!?? i put them in the basked and emtied it...

    hehe...those were created in case you removed something you shouldn't have. That's why I told you to put hijackthis in a seperate folder, then run it. You shouldn't have any troubles tho.
