Hello all, I just bought My first DVD burner a lite-on model SOHW-812S BLACK. heres a link from new egg where I bought it http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=27-106-935&depa=0

Now I havn't burned a single movie. I have a movie on my pc which is a dvd-r and I would like to burn it to dvd but I don't have and dvd media. I was checking out dvd media and theres is a good deal for a 50 pack of dvd+r.

Can I take a dvd-r rip and burn it to a dvd+r?

I'm compleatly ignorent about these things but ya have to start somewhere.

There is no conversion needed. the +r only refers to the type of media, not the format of the movie. The movie should be labled dvdr.

Just an update. I'm using dvd shrink and nero 6 to backup my DVD's and havn't made a single coaster yet. This has been easier than burning cd's by far.
