Half Life 2 release date?

According to the U.S store chain Walmart, Half Life 2 pre-orders will be shipped to customers on the 2nd of July.

    Yeah. I'd love to see this system play HL2. That'd mean that old compaq with a crappy PCI card could play it. (Geforce 4 MX440) That computer can't even play PoP.

    Then again, PoP does REQUIRE pixel shading, which GF4MX series cards do not have. I guess that means pixel shading is optional?? I just don't see that old machine playing that game...
