I have a old computer I use as a file server, its a:
PII 350MHz
320mb ram
2x 250 WD hard drives
win2k server

Im keeping all my important stuff on there like my music, movies, and various other stuff :D. Im not sure how to keep it safe on my network though. I was thinking a crossover from it to my main box. Cause I was thinking I should try to keep it off the net. Any ideas on the best way to keep my data safe? Im still gonna do weekly back-ups but I wanna be as safe as possiable. Thanks guys for input

You might try a crossover, with main box off the web while connected to crossover. That is simplest way.

If you need to keep it hooked in all the time, just run Sygate Personal Firewall on it (it's free) and set it to block everything except on-network requests for files.
