NEW Omega Catalyst 4.5 Released

Some new Omega drivers based on the ATI Catalyst 4.5 driver suite have been released.
The purpose of the Omega Drivers is to provide gamers with an alternate set of drivers, ones that have more options and features than the original sets. The drivers contain optimizations, extra features (like OC capabilities), more resolutions and internal tweaks that can give them the edge in a gaming enviroment over the normal drivers, which are often tailored for synthetic benchmarks. All Omega driver sets are tested (unless noted) by myself in my own PC or in an alternate PC (in the case of the nvidia drivers) to ensure maximum compatibility and reliability.

do these actually have any differences, other than "more options"? it says an edge in a gaming environment - how true is this?

It's relative, but a lot of folk swear by them. I believe game quality tweaks create a definite difference over that of the officials. The easiest way to answer your question though is by letting you answer it for yourself. Un-install your current drivers and try the Omega's out. See if you notice any differences. If you do and you like them, then that's a plus. If you don't notice a difference or you don't like them, then just revert back. It just depends. Give them a whirl though if you're curious. They're pretty good. Nothing bogus.

    Cheers

I started using Omegas because I too was curious. I've never had a problem at all.
