Changing default browser

I had a big problem with ad-ware stuff on Internet Explorer, and while dealing with that, I downloaded Mozilla. It's great, but it has some things to it that I don't really enjoy and now that I have IE working properly again, I don't want Mozilla to be default.
Now, I've read all about going to tools, internet options, programs, "IE should check to see whether it is default browser", yadda yadda.. And i've done that. Several times, actually. Nothing ever pops up to give me the option of making it my default browser, and it's frustrating the heck out of me. Is there any other way to make IE be my default again? If I were to uninstall Mozilla altogether, would that completely screw things up since everything seems to open with it?

Schwaip gives the best way, but XP can restore that to IE if you uninstall Mozilla from within the Add\Remove Programs applet and then do an immediate restart of XP. XP likes to use System Restore for this, if it was disabled when you loaded Mozilla, Schwaip's way is absolute best way.
On boxes that do not have XP on them, what happens is this:
Turn on the Check to see if default option in IE, exit IE, then run it again. You will (should, if other things are not broken also) get a dialog THEN (as you reopen IE and it starts to load and get ready to open) that says something about making IE default-- tell it yes or OK or in older versions of IE check a checkbox next to the line that talks about this.
