IE link bar that displays URL addresses

On my computer at work (Windows 98) there is a bar at the bottom of IE that shows the URL of any link I point to in my browser window. This bar does not appear on the IE window at home (Windows XP).

Is there a way to put this bar in my computer at home?

    go to View (in IE) and make sure Status Bar is checked
