screen capture question, :)

edited May 2004 in Science & Tech
Hi there, I have XP and i can't figure out how to capture a screen. On my old computer keyboard there was a key that did it. Do i have to get a freeware program for capturing? Any suggestions?
I just want to say thanks for helping on all my newby questions. I get great answers and it's explained very simply, thankfully

you need to push the PrtScr key at whatever point you want the screen shot, then open up paint (or the photo editor of your choice, really) and push Ctrl-V. voila

ah ok, that's the one. mine has some retarded "double function" that works with m$ office products ... so it's kinda smushed on there with another function

if you press ALT + printscr, you'll capture only the active window.
