My HJT log... any help much appreciated

Hi everyone. I read primesuspect's article on Defending against spyware, confessed I know nothing about PCs and asked for some suggestions from those more experienced. He asked that I run HJT and post my log here, which I am doing. I don't know how to link to my previous post, but basically my husband is accessing a gambling site and his computer runs like crap (is that technical enough?), with slow searches, sometimes locking up, sometimes replacing his default home page, and probably much more than that going on behind the scenes. Any help would be appreciated. And yeah, he probably hits some porno sites. He's a guy, isn't he?

Thanks again and here goes hopefully.

Run cwshredder (get newest version) with latest definition updates, let it kill everything it finds, then rerun HJT. I want to see what is left. This log DOES show things that CWS can kill at least in part. Also run AdAware 6.0 with latest defs updated before you run it. CWS or AdAware will kill Ghandi for you, and this is a part of your problem.

then you're going to need to run the latest version of CWShredder, as John_D said. Then you're going to want to update your mcafee definitions and do a full virus scan. THEN, you want to download Spybot Search & Destroy 1.3, update it, and run a full scan with THAT.. THEN, post your new HJT log and we'll kill any stragglers :D

Hold off on deleting this guy!! :

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Delay] C:\WINDOWS\delayrun.exe

On Windows 98 and ME, that is a file introduced by the manufacturer for a specific reason. It is usually foundon HP computers, and is basically a short timer that slows down the boot up sequence so that certain hardware resources have time to fully load their services before the rest of the OS load. Removing this item can cause more problems that it solves.

Thanks everyone for your input so far... I have been deleting the files as recommended after I posted the HJT log.

Unfortunately, I did delete O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Delay] C:\WINDOWS\delayrun.exe before I saw the post not to do so.

Having trouble deleting on HJT; when I use the 'fix checked" option, it locks up and the program does not respond. I kept trying to keep going, but I finally was not able to delete any more items from the HJT log. I tried to save a new log to post here, but that *$*%&*$ PC locked up doing that... I'm back on my work computer to cool off before I do something drastic. Any suggestions? Or is it Miller Time?

Make sure you are running in SAFE MODE. Reboot your PC, and start tapping the F8 key until you see a boot options menu. One of the options will be SAFE MODE. Choose that, and wait....Safe Mode takes much longer to boot up. Once you are booted up, re-run HJT, and fix the entries listed above.

You can restore the RunDelay item using HJT. From the main program screen, choose Config, then Backups. If you have been running HJT in it's own folder and saving the backups, you should see everythng you deleted listed there. Pick the right entry, and restore it.
