I am thinking of setting up a wireless network. I found this router and i know it is kinda cheap but the way i see it, If i dont like how it runs ill go back to wired. The whole point of this is to beam internet to my next door neighbors house so we can split cost of cable internet here. The router is

Now the way i have it set up now is a server in the garage with a cheap 4 port hub. If i hook up that router will it act as the hub does or will it not. I do not want the cable modem feeding directly into it. I want to be able to control all of that threw windows 2000 server on the server box. Will this work or not? If so ima purchase that and 3 wireless cards tonight from the same people from newegg.

    Caveat Emptor: That's an interesting plan and one that I wouldn't document in advance. I doubt your cable company would take kindly to it.

    So, your configuration is currently:?
    Cable -> Nic1 Server Nic2 -> Hub -> Computers

    If that's true, I'd disable the routing features of the wireless (using it only as an access point) such as DHCP, gateway, etc and connect it as such:
    Cable -> Server -> Router -> Computers (both wired/less)

    If you'd rather, this way'd work too:
    Cable -> Router -> computers (including server)
