P4 CPU spec question...

So I was looking around at the overclockers.com CPU database. (Here) I was looking at the average overclocks for CPUs like mine. (P4 2.8C) I wanted to get a better idea of how far my chip would go, so I started to look at the other information on the other people's processors, and I was wondering how they got that information. (Stuff like the FPO/Batch #, S Code, Plant, and week.) Well, following a link on that page, I saw some stuff on how to get some of that information so I whipped out the box my CPU came in and got some of the data by looking at the label.

FPO/Batch # - L326B018
S Code - SL6WT

I still don't know where it was made, (That's what they mean by plant, right? most of the other people say Malaysia or Costa Rica.) and I still don't know what they mean by week. The label on my box says "PACK DATE: 09/04/03" but other people just gave a straight number. 47 was pretty common.

So how do I find this stuff out? I'd really like to get a better estimate on how far this thing will go before my new HSF gets here.

    List up everything printed on that box in the section where you found those numbers and I'll see if I remember which line denotes the year and week of manufacture.

    It's a Week 26, 2003 made in Malaysia

    How to read FPO/Batch code:

    1st letter or digit = plant code
    0 = San Jose, Costa Rica
    1 = Cavite, Philippines
    3 = .............., Costa Rica
    6 = Chandler, Arizona
    7 = .........., Philippines
    8 = Leixlip, Ireland
    9 = Penang, Malaysia
    L = ............, Malaysia
    Q = ..........., Malaysia
    R = Manila, Philippines
    Y = Leixlip, Ireland

    2nd digit = Year of production

    3rd & 4th digits = week

    5th - 8th digits= some kind of traceability number

    10th - 13th digits = Serialization code

    Based on what DogSoldier said, the same as mine. Week 26, 2003, made in Malaysia. Our Prod code, MM#, and Version # are all exactly the same. hehe

    Thanks for your help guys!

    Gracias DogSoldier, looks like mine is also a week 26, Malaysia. But what does this mean? Are certain weeks better overclockers than others?

    I'm not really sure, but I think the later ones are supposedly better than the older ones.

    Dog, where did you get that information?

    No problem. I googled "fpo batch code"

    I didn't see any week 26s on that cpu database. What is your goal o/c speed TheGr81?

    I have had mine to 3.3ghz , but my memory would do no more than ddr470 @ 1:1. However, i just ordered 1gb geil ultra pc4400. Hopefully, i will be able to reach close to 1100fsb and ddr550 speeds with that stuff!

    I wanna do 3.5 or so. Higher if I can, but my memory really isn't all that good. I'll just have to wait and see how it goes.

    You can always run your memory async for higher CPU speeds.
