Im wondering is it possable to share a dvd +rw on a computer, and map it on another machine and burn a dvd on the the dvd burner in another computer? Any thoughts guys?
i have a dvd player shares and i can stream videos, so id imagine if u keep a dvd in the RW and install the burning software on the new drive it should work
the reason i ask is I want to back up my file server to dvd's and I have a dvd burner in my main box thats why I was wondering how I could do it. Any ideas then a easy way to back up my file server on dvd if the burner is on my main box?

Make a computer image with Norton Ghost and burn the images to DVD.
Nope. The PIII in the other room has a DVD writer, and I tried to rip/burn from this computer through the mapped network drive. Doesn't work. I couldn't even watch a movie.

UM... use Ghost to burn image file sets, transfer to other computer over interface as FILES, burn right from other computer????

What I do is copy everything I want to burn over to a drive on the computer with the burner. It adds an extra step, but gets the job done.
