New computer will not post
I just built my computer yesterday night with al capown and it will not post. I have a msi k8t neo fishr, amd anthlon 64 for desktops (not compatible?), wd 74 gb raptor, lite on 52 x 32 x 52 x 16 cd drive, sony floppy, 2 sticks of 512 mb buffalot memory, thermalright slk-948 U heatsink, and an ati radeon 8500. O yes, the case is a colermaster wave thingy (in black).
When i turn the computer on it powers up (all the fans will work and the lights will go on, and the keyboard is powered on), but the mouse and monitor will not work. The monitor only says, monitor is in power save mode and i do not know if i can get to bios or not using the keyboard. I can not use the front button to turn the computer off and have to pull the cord out oif the back of the power supply (since it has no switch, pc power&cooling 425 deluxe). The cd drive will not open up to get the windows disk in. Al and I tried to change the jumper settings (or something like that) to get it to open but we had no luck. All of the wires are connected so i dont think that is the problem.
Al thinks that the cpu is not compatible, and that could be the problem. If you can help, please post in here. Thanks a lot.

Power down computer. Unplug CD drive, power cable to it and the IDE cable connection on CD. Repower up computer. Now see if you can use Delete key to get into BIOS. If no, then reset CMOS, and make dang sure the CMOS jumper did not get shipped PARKED, if so put in reset for 30 seconds, put back to normal. POSSIBLE there is a BIOS update for that board on http://www.msi.com.tw/ that will let the board RUN a chip like that, but you will need maybe to swap out a CPU long enough to flash from a floppy if so and you cannot get into CMOS by doing these other things. NOTE, if CD drive thinks it has a CD in it now, it might take one heck of a time for board to even post to start genning video-- if drive is defective, might never post fully, then see below also.
Second major idea, look in manual, see if there is a riser that has LEDs, 2x2 square, talked about in it. If yes, in manual is a table that can vary by board model, so look in your motherboard manual and see what the POST LED errors are. Manual is on motherboard CD in Acrobat Reader format, if Al will let you look at it on one of his rigs adn you did not get or cannot find the printed one. On MSI boards I have worked on, CMOS jumper is almost always a three pin jumper riser with a GREEN shunt block, off by itself on board.
Have Al read this too, ask about what is unclear, please.
Also whenever the computer starts up i hear a beep.
