A note on about:blank for HJT users
I'm presently out on the job offshore and last night my relief installed the Yahoo Toolbar companion, which is known spyware on my laptop.
When I got on tour this morning and saw that damn toolbar in my browser, I unistalled it and then ran HJT to clean up it's traces. After running Hijack This, I then opened my browser and I had "about:blank:" come up as my home page. I then opened HJT up again and looked in the config section and "about:blank" is what is set for the default home page. Simply browsing to my appropriate home page and resetting it as my home page solved my problem. Attached is a pic of the default HJT settings in config, which a person can customize if they want to.
I'm not saying the "about:blank" problem people are seeing are all caused by this, but it might be part of the problem people are seeing when they use HJT to clean up with. Simply resetting your home page to your preference might solve your problems.
