avi to mpeg2

I have 2 avi movie files that Id like to convert to mpeg2 and then merge them as 1 file, any ideas how to do it?

    k got the 2 avi's to 1 movie and formatted it wma in windows movie maker. Can I convert it to mpeg2 easily? or is there a easy way to burn the file now?

    Yup try Tmpenc+. Thats what I use. Works like a charm.

    What tool is that? Pinnacle studio? How much better is it? I have thaught about picking it up, but havnt heard too many testimonials.
