User ID. Same or different?

Sally finally got the troublesome puter up and running.

Short version.

Remove HD from puter B.
Hook into puter A.
Clone A to B.
B refused to work.
Swap HD's from A to B and B to A.

Finally had a win. Now we have twins. Puter B with HD from puter A running like a champion. The ID numbers (not the client numbers but the User ID numbers) are identical on both the original and the cloned HD.

Sally deleted ALL relevant folding files, data, logs and folders on the cloned HD. Rebooted and downloaded fresh clients. Basically starting fresh with new folders etc.

Both clients are working efficiently but are still using the same User ID that was originally cloned.

Will this have any bearing on credit for WU's completed? If so, how can this be corrected.

Incidently, both have the same El Cheapo Asus mobo's. (P4S800-MX)

You'll have to have differing IDs to receive credit for your submissions.

Open regedit and go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> Software -> Delete the pandegroup entry and restart folding.

Are they working on the same WU? The same run, clone, gen? If so do what Thrax said and delete that entry in the regitry but NOTHING else.

No, they are not the same Marc. The only thing in common is the exact same used ID.

Hi Thrax, does your suggestion still apply, since they are different WU's?
Also do we have to start new ones?

    Thanks

Yeah, follow Thrax's suggestion and make that computer grab a new ID.

G'day Chris. We figured as much too, just were'nt sure how to go about changing it.

Looks like Mr Thrax hit the nail on the head. Sally did as Thrax suggested and it has changed the user ID in the log, not in EM III as yet. Hope we get the 23 points for the one we are changing. Only about 5 min to go before it's finished.

Been getting desperate here as Dexter is gaining on us like a runaway Mack truck, lol. :banghead:
