audio file converter

anyone know of a GOOD audio file converter (preferably many file types) that can do high quality mp3s (192 or above) and is free? ...i'm trying to convert the audio from a '50s atomic bomb promotional video ... it rules ... hehehehe

    sales drive?? nah, google Duck and Cover and get the video ... it rules ... it's so stupid but so funny :p

    dbPowerAmp is good for converting audio, but I dunno if it can rip the audio from a video. (Sounds to me like that's what you're looking to do.)

    well i managed to get the audio from the video but now i need somehting to turn the wav into mp3 so i'll give that a shot
