winderz XP gamma

after i play some of my games, the gamma on the computer stays really high and the brightness of the monitor is almost at 0, i dont really know how to "defualt" the gamma, any ideas?

    Ya know, I had a very similar problem one time. I don't know what caused it or how I got rid of it. Might have been a simple driver reinstall. Go into ATi control panel and go to the color tab and... do something. I can't remember what I did. I think I checked "Full Screen 3D" and then went back to "Desktop" and then hit OK and just exit out. I think when you check one of those the color goes back to normal. It's a very odd problem, one I haven't had since the 4.2's I think.

    well that didnt work so i guess ill reintall the drivers, thats odd becuase ive never had it do that before

    Sounds like you are experiencing that ATI gamma problem. They released a fix a few weeks back for the drivers listed in the document you linked to, but the last two driver versions from ATI don't have that problem. New Cat's came out today, use the Catalyst Uninstaller then install the new ones, Catalyst 4.6. That should hopefully solve your problems.

    aww ****, i tired 2 different video cards and it even was bright in the bios screen. i tried an old monitor and it works fine. *sigh* looks like im buying a nw monitor. ill try the newest cats when i get home, but its not looking too good for armo, breaker of monitors

    If you get the problem outside Windows, then it's not a driver problem. If it's bright in the BIOS, then it's not the drivers.
