Temperature monitor

Okay, I've been a bit concerned about my CPU temp for a few days now, as the MSI CoreCentre utility that came with my motherboard was reporting the temperature as around 60 at idle, and anything up to 70 at load..... however I've just installed motherboard monitor and that is showing my temp at around 5-10 degrees cooler, something like 56 at idle, and 60 at load... does anyone know which of these is likely to be more accurate? Cheers.

Oh, in case it's relevant, my motherboard is the MSI K8T NEO-FISR2 and my processor is an A64-3200+ running at 2.4GHz (220*11).

Check the temp in the BIOS. What type of cooling do you have and is the computer stable?

the Bios agrees with the lower readings, but I don't understand why the utility that came with the board is reporting higher.... seems odd. I'm using air cooling, a Coolermaster Heatsink & fan (the one with the 6 heatpipes on it, big bugger), 4 case fans (2 low rpm intakes at the front, 2 high rpm exhausts at the back) and 2 case coolers that slot next to my graphics card and exhaust the hot air from that. Sounds like an aircraft taking off when I boot up, but seems to be getting quite good airflow.

Oh, and the PC seems fairly stable, not had any crashes except when I ramped the FSB up to 225MHz to see if it would do it..... didn't like that at all, nerfed my windows installation :(
