Wireless range...

My parents have given my permission to "Go Wireless" for our house, so this is the project I am sitting down to: Convert a currently wired network into wireless.
Here's the setup:
Cable modem and wired router in my bedroom, with cable running to my computer (and ocassionally my laptop)
Long ass cable runs into my brothers room for his computer
Even longer-ass cable runs all the way across the house to my dad's "office" where there is a switch, with my mom and dad's laptops connect.
My dad (of course) insists that he have internet access without an appreciable loss of speed, and because he is using a mac with built-in airport, I'm limited (for him, anyways) to wireless B.
I've tried this before, and with both the linksys B router and the D-Link B router, the range is insufficient to reach my dad's office. (we have an atrium, which is essentially a big hole cut out of the middle of our house...so the signal needs to basically travel around a corner in a hallway), so I gave up for a while...
Does anyone know anything about which wireless product has the best range? I'm tempted to get A/B wireless to get my brother a faster hookup...I'm going to stay wired cause I'm in the same room as the router.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
