Only one thing I don't like about Tiger Woods 2004

I wish you could use your "career" player in LAN or Direct IP game play. I have looked and with my limited experience didn't see anything to change to be able to do it. So I ask:

Is there a way to do it or a patch so you can use your "Career" player?

Who else would be interested in playing if we could?
(I guess we could make a new player to use that at least looked like the ones we created.)

I haven't played a golf sim in some time, but I thought MS Links was the best on the market. I never setup a "career" player, but I could use the same player online as I did against the computer. I've played all vesions of MS Links LS from Links 386CD to Links LS2001 or was it LS2003.

Are you wanting the win-loss stats from online play to count as part of your "career" stats?

With EA Sports "Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2004" you can create and develop a "career" player. As is you can make them look how you want and as you play you gain and develop skills. When you play on a LAN or Direct IP your player that you developed is not available. Even though you could create a LAN player that looks like your Career player it feels and plays different.

I think you can't cause it wouldn't be fair for other players that are new to the MP part and stuff. In other words, just to make it even for everyone.

So your career player gets smarter? I thought the purpose is for the REAL player (as in YOU) to get better, not your "created" player.

With Links LS, it's the same no matter what. It's all up the person at the keyboard (mouse).

Perhaps I'm misunderstanding you, but that's what I read into what you are saying....

Anyhow, I don't know the answer to your question, so I guess I should exit this thread. :D

It's not that your player gets smarter, you need to supply the brains and strategy. Your player's attributes change and as such the game feels different between a "Default" player and "Your" player. It's like your player is totally stripped down and you have to "earn" your attributes back. You never gain something you never had. I really like the swing controlled by the mouse, which is reflective of you.

So, in online games, it uses a default player, you don't get to select? Does that mean you get a default set of clubs and such?

With LinksLS, any settings you make for "your" player go with you no matter if online or playing career against the computer.

The software doesn't change anything about "your" player, but you can make adjustments and select different clubs.

More or less it does. You can be a famous golfer. (yawn) Or you can create one with standard or default abilities. You can select from a limited selection of gear. That's why I would prefer to use "MY" player.
