si3112r.sys is corrupted when trying to install xp

I'm trying to load my eval copy of xp 64bit and I'm trying to load it up on my shuttle xpc A64 system running a SATA hard drive. I don't usually use a floppy drive, so I hook it up(yes it's done correctly), then boot with the xp cd in the drive, hit F6 and when I tell it which driver to use it comes back saying that si3112r.sys is corrupted and kicks me back to the specify device screen.
I've tried downloading the driver from shuttle's page from all 4 servers they have listed, tried about a dozen different floppies(formatted and full scandisk'd) and even tried copying the drivers from the cd it came with, still get the same thing. I've also tried swapping my ram to see if that was the problem, but all to no avail. Is there any way I can tell it to look on a cd for the driver or even a usb flash drive?

Any ideas?

Oh yeah, and  why can't MS include the damn SATA drivers in the build of xp?

Are you using 64 bit drivers?

    Regular old drivers don't work.

do they have a 64bit version of the sata driver? I've found no reference to it being either 32 or 64 bit.

I haven't seen 64 bit SATA drivers, but you could check Short-Media's 64 bit driver section to see if we have them.

That said, trying to use WinXP/2K drivers on XP for 64 Bit Extended is like ME drivers on XP.

Ah ha! It is there. At least was. I can find a new link for it when I'm at work today.

    Thanks Thrax!

I know, and you were right, they are the best place to go for 64-bit stuff. I was just plugging the SM-downloads section also.
