Oh yes. BIG difference!! If you can get it, go for the 9800 Pro. The 9600 Series is more in the middle range while the 9800 Series is more high-end. The X800 Series makes both look like utter crap though. ;D

The 9800 Pro easily owns the 9600 XT.

what csimon means is if you're buying a 128 mb 9800 pro, make sure it does NOT say 128-bit as well. what you want is a 256-bit 128mb 9800 pro, so if it looks deceptively low priced, i.e. around $160, then i think I'd recommend the 9600xt instead

okay i was wondering what the "Lite Retail" meant, turns out this is what it means
Full retail indicates that the package contains the entire bundle including the Game software bundle and utilities. The Lite retail versions do not come bundled with the software bundle and are packaged with the neccessities needed to enjoy the pinnacle in performance from Sapphire alone.

so you're good to go, assuming you dont want games and other assorted crap

    Hi Bio,

You can get it a bit cheaper from Komplett, its the same card and their RMA procedure is much better than overclockers.co.uk; who's customer service staffed by idiots and rips you off bigtime.

    Try this

    http://www.komplett.co.uk/k/ki.asp?sku=122901&cks=PRL

I can also personally vouch for this card as its the one I got and flashed it into a 9800xt

    Hi Baron,

do you mean me or Bio? :) If me then I still love my BFG FX5900 (flashed to 5950) because of the price I paid (under £100 or $170).

    My 9800pro/xt creams it though.

yeah but remember it was originally a 5900 not 5950 however it is now apart from only having 128mb of mem, everything else is the same & it benchmarks the same as a 5950 :) It also came with the full version of Call Of Duty too.
