DRAMS refresh failure?

I got my new computer about a month ago and it will not post (http://www.short-media.com/forum/showthread.php?t=14570).

It seemed like it was the CPU as the led lights indicated that. All fans and lights worked correctly. I sent the CPU (anthlon 64 3400+ for notebooks) back and got another one the same kind. It should work with the motherboard (msi k8t neo fishr) as on www.msi.com/tw says that anthlon 64 CG core works with it (http://www.short-media.com/forum/showthread.php?t=14688).

When i first installed the new cpu it would not work, I could not hear any sounds or anything. I decided to reapply the thermal paste but i forgot to plug the cpu fan in. I started the computer up and I heard a short beep. I looked on the website and found that it is DRAMS refresh failure(http://www.msicomputer.com/support/sup_tshoot.asp#1_1). I do not know what that means and assume it has to do with the memory. If you have had this problem or know what it means please reply. I need all the help I can get.

Ok, DRAM refresh failure means RAM sync rate is out of tune with CPU rate, or that DRAM modules are defective or misspeced for CPU, or that BIOS needs flashing to get CPU specs right or that you need to get into BIOS and adjust RAM and\or CPU timings, OR that DRAM has worked loose or not been seated right in socket POSSIBLY. Almost total RAM failure can get this beep code, those are the most common causes. An ALMOST totally dead battery set in a laptop can trigger this spuriously also, as can a bad or surged PSU or an almost dead CMOS battery. Get mfr tech support to walk you through, you will also be building a tech support record if nothing works as above and below to fix by having a tech support rep talk you through this that will probably justify an immediate RMA exchange setup or at least a return to repair at mfr.

To get a no-post means these two things, possibly both if BIOS on board has to be flashed to get new CPU recognized right or BIOS is misrecognizing CPU and timings and voltages neeed to be set manually, are badly out of sync. Make sure the removable DRAM, if any, is seated well. Your manual should tell you where to look to see if you have removable\expansion RAM module installed. If not, mfr tech support needs to tell you how to find and get to expandable RAM area.
