Texas Instruments Debuts UDSL

Texas Instruments wants to raise the bandwidth of DSL with its new Uni-DSL (UDSL) technology. The UDSL technology is backwards-compatible with the current infrastructure of most DSL operators, and would also give DSL providers the ability to offer connections to customers at aggregate speeds of 200Mbps (e.g., 100Mbps up and down, or 50 up/150 down) over existing copper. Carriers would just need to deploy fiber to the cross connects (a.k.a. primary connection points or neighborhood service cabinets).
