Outlook 2003 / express

edited June 2004 in Science & Tech
I use norton internet security 2004, and rather annoyingly, even when the norton anti-spam feature is not enabled it insists on adding its own antispam toolbar in outlook 2003, and outlook express.

If I remove the toolbar from within outlook then it just re-appears when I reload the program.

How can I permanently disable this bug cough feature?

In OUtlook 2003 Tools, Options, Other, Advanced Options, then either Add-In Manager or COM Add-ins.

It may or may not be listed there. That is typically where those kind of things are put

Sorry in advance, because I am not answering your question, but I just have to say this:

Chris, you should have let me know that was bugging you, I have the fix you need.

Navigate to c:\program files\common files\symantec shared\antispam\ and change the name of msouplug.dll to, say, xxmsouplug.dll, the offending bar will disappear.

    Works for me. ;)

Also, glad you like the Avatar Prime', I consider it one of my finest animations. he he. ;D

Mancabus, removing it in com add ins doesn't work, as norton just adds it again to the list after removal. Spinners trick works a treat though, cheers.

Prime Suspect, Glad you like the avatar, spinner gets the credit for that also.
