Hi all,

I am yet another statistic. Count me in as one of the unlucky folks to be hijacked by Omega.

I have run Ad-aware and SpyBot-search&destroy. I deleted the obvious files noted by HijackThis. I am unable to find any obvious .exe files or .dll files to delete. Below, I have posted my most recent HijackThis results. Please help me regain control of my computer!

    please try CWShredder. It is linked in my sig.

    After doing so, boot into safe mode and remove these entries with hijackthis:

    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [olehelp] C:\Program Files\Common Files\svchost.exe
    O16 - DPF: {10000000-1000-0000-1000-000000000000} - file://C:\Program Files\Common Files\svchost.exe

    then, if the file is still there, delete the file c:\program files\common files\svchost.exe

    Thank you so very much. The soultion you recommended seems to have taken the sting out of the Omega bug. I ran CWShreader and it appears to have removed the offending files. I searched for c:\program files\common files\svchost.exe to remove the file and found only the folowing:

    svchost located in the recycle bin
    SVCHOST located in C:\i386
    SVCHOST.exe-3530F672.pf located in c:\WINDOWS\Prefetch
    svchost located in c:\WINDOWS\system32

    Should I worry about any of the above files or just empty the recycle bin and call it good?

    Just empty the recycle bin.
