Flaky Wireless Connection

edited June 2004 in Science & Tech
Help!! Why do I keep dropping my wireless connection??

I've got a DLink 614+ Router and two Gateway 200 laptops (integrated Wireless Calexico) They're ridiculously flaky. I've tried changing the channel to no avail.

Possible problems: A 2.4 Ghz Cordless phone system.
2 neighbors with Wifi Networks.

Is there a viable solution short of buying 802.11-A equipment??
Case in point, connection dropped twice while I was typing this.

This software works well. I'm not sure if it will help with the phone interference http://www.funk.com/ you can download a trial.

I have the same problem. Every time I use the phone or it rings, my connection drops.

Can't say as I have the phone problem, however remember that wireless antennas of the WAP sort are dipole. They broadcast the ISM band signals from the sides of the antenna, not the top.

To get the best coverage, leave one vertical, and put another horizontal.
