You actually want the good old case where you have to unscrew 3 screws at the back and flip the whole cover? May i ask why?
Dont even know if they are made anymore. Or are you talking about window, not door?

The doors are removable. My Antec has a door on the front that hides the drive bays, but it can be taken off and it would not damage the case.

Now, if you just don't like the looks of the types of cases that have the doors, even sans door, then that definitely limits the cases to choose from.

// Edit: Noticed you're at Rice. I have considered going there. I lean more towards A&M, but Rice is a wonderful school, probably better than A&M. How do you like it?

I drive by the campus often when going to the med center, but have never been to it.

I used to hate the doors blocking cases with a passion. I could never find a case without a door that STILL has a case layout equal to or better than the Cheiftec/Antec/XXXX cases with doors, and it a full sized ATX case. I even thought about converting my old 486 tower AT case into ATX, I was that desperate.

But after a great special at CompUSA 8 months ago, I ended up with the case in my sig (couldn’t pass it up, the PSU in it alone was worth the $80 I paid). Frankly the door doesn’t bother me at all. I used to think that it would get in my way all the time, but it in fact is not an issue whatsoever. I could say, in fact, that the case is perfect, door and all.

Besides, you could always mod the case if it really bothers you that much. And let's not forget that a black/blue/silver/etc case doesn’t look good with beige drives.

Removing the door shouldn't pose a problem.

The beige would be horrible ugly, but you could paint or dye the face of the drives to a color that matches the case and leave the door off.

I personally like the door as it makes accidental power-offs a thing of the past.

Yeah! I hit the power button a couple of times in the past accidentally with my knee. Very irritating.

You can set it (in winXP) to prompt before shutting down, so the power button shouldnt be a problem. The reset button, however, would cause problems.

With my Chieftec you have to use a Pen or something cause the reset is that small. Power button I think I have done once and its kinda hard to do it at that.

Chieftech here as well and i hate that reset button. What i did was reversing the cables at the back of the front deksel so that the reset button became the power and vice versa. Much better. I use the powerbutton like once in 2 months or so.

if you dont have a problem with windows, look at the kingwin cases. they have some of the best stock cooling around too. i'd look them up, but i'm lazy.
