Still not quite sure just what I had wrong but I finally found some code (via google) that worked decently so I took that and spiced it up a bit to better suite my needs.
I have around 1,000 HTML pages I need to put into a database, so I really reallyreallyreally do not want to do anything by hand that I don't have to!
