MML Recap
This weekend we went to MML (MillionManLan) run by the LANWAR folks. A few points of interest:
* sharkydart, CBDroege, CrazyJoe0813, Zanthian, and myself attended.
* sharkydart pwns at UT2K4 (many of you know that already) but there are actually 3-4 people in the world who are better than him, a few were at MML.
* I actually managed to kill sharky about 3 times in the course of 4 days of UT2K4 playing.
* LANWAR is run by a few main people. Burden, the guy who started it all, does a lot of work for each event. His wife, BBabe, quit her job and now works full-time to plan each LANWAR event. Planning LANWARs is a full-time job, the events have grown so large.
* Watching Bible Music in view of the Concessions Stand is a bad thing.
* CB is doing a documentary of gaming and LAN parties. He shot a lot of footage at MML.
* He got a pretty good interview with the Asus guy (Asus' head of Marketing for the US was at MML); I had a really great conversation with the Asus guy after CB's interview.
* If I play Halo on my new notebook, Age of Mythology has to be uninstalled and reinstalled afterward in order to make it playable again. This doesn't happen to me on any other PC, so it might be some queer aspect of the software/hardware combination on an A64 system (?)
* After a full 4 days of gaming and use as a Desktop Replacement system, I am compiling a review of my new eMachines M6809 notebook, and I'll be posting it soon.

* CrazyJoe0813 won a gig of Corsair TwinX by catching a mousepad with the Corsair logo on it.
* I never win anything decent at these events.
Um, you cannot restart Windows on the machine between those two games and have video reset by restart and then play on the other game??? This might be a video modal and\or or audio modal reset done by Halo that AoM does not like.... Does running AoM in compatibility mode and Halo NOT in a compatibility mode help???
