Lets just hope that it fix's the problem I had when I have my raid controller turned on with my old board. Everytime you run it, I had to disable the raid controller otherwise it wouldnt boot into windows again. Bloody thing. :banghead:

I imagine that could possibly be relative to the fixed compatiblity issues with third party IDE drivers.

Yes, I saw that. I used to hate it, because every now and again I would forget and only find out when the friggin thing wouldnt boot.:banghead:

Gave it a miss after that.

In a nutshell, it optimises your startup routine, so Windows boots much more efficiently, which of course results in a faster boot time.

You simply run the application everyonce in a while, it will then restart your computer, and upon startup, it will optimise you startup files etc etc, and then next time you reboot, your OS should load a lot swifter.

what happened to this? the link is no longer valid and if you go to the MS website it says "bootvis is currently unavailable"

It appears that Microsoft have withdrawn the new version of bootvis and reverted their download links to the original older version. I haven't found out why yet. However, I have updated the original link, as I've hosted the latest bootvis file on my own sites server. I've also added a link back to Microsoft where you can download the older version.

    Cheers

mine kept crashing at the end of reportting and I pressed the report error button so maybe this happened to lots of people ?

    Hence the recall

I will await the latest version and try again as it did seem to make a difference

Yes, that's certainly a possability, however the latest version has been running fine on my systems. I guess we'll have to wait and see if a slightly revised version appears over the next few weeks.

i've been using Microsoft Bootvis v1.3.37, for about 3weeks now. since using it my Advanced Windows Care program repeatedly finds errors on my computer!!! This only happens when i've shutdown my pc leading me to believe it's bootvis causing it. Its never any strong or worrying issues and windows care does fix them at one click of the button.... none the less its still causing problems. is this a common issue???? perhaps the version i have has faults????

Read what I said, unless you are using SP1 its not going to work. If you are using SP1 then you should think about updating.
