any idea?

hi both of my cd drive broke down all together couple days ago and when i check the device manager i say somthing about an error 19 and that my rigistry is incomplete or damage . so i was hoping is there anything to do?

    Have you checked your event logs and stuff? Done a chkdsk on the harddrive? I'm worried that your registry seems to be corrupted or incomplete. Do a chkdsk and when it cleans the drive and its properly cleaned do this..... shutdown and while its shutoff unplug the cable from the cd drives. Reboot without them and make sure they are gone from the device manager. Shutdown again and reconnect the optical drives and MAKE SURE the cable is sound and everrything is plugged in TIGHT and the bios sees them when you boot etc..... Now boot and see if windows will find the new devices.
